Every Memorial day I think of the Four men that we lost on May 28,1970. 1st platoon C troop. I was wounded April 9, 1970 so I was in the hospital when this happened. Greg Scheeler was my tc and he was KIA that night. We were all so young. Such a terrible waste.

I spent two years helping rebuilding the 3/5 Cav.in Ft. Lewis , from Nov.72 thur Sept.74 , when I got there , assigned to Delta Troop Recon.,their were a lot of stories about what was left of the regiment after returning from Vietnam was returned to Texas and assigned to the 1st Cav.,stories were they suffered so many casulities their weren't enough for a unit so they just attached them to the first, I've been proud of the 5th cav.just always wondered about the unit.
