I served in D Troup 3/5th Air Cav from 1974 to 1975, 16 months. Survived two crashes, CH-47 (special ops) and UH1H on the side of Mt. Rainier. Lost my hearing for 90 days from M2 qualifications. Got attacked by an O-3 Sauerwein at a Team Handball Tourney, he dislocated my left shoulder. Got my rank stripes ripped off by an SFC Brown, later OIC Marvin pinned them back on, and OIC Marvin took him down to SGT. Oh the Karma.

How can you have everything in your military records that needs to be, but they can't find your medical records. Motar round hits the track I take the full blast and finally they medivac me and days later I wake up and I'm told I'm lucky to be a live as we didn't think you were gonna make it. When I got to see my head, it was like a bowling ball "Huge" I lost the sight out of one eye and shrapnel in chest head and arms and now they can't find my records that would indicate what kind of wounds I had and what happened to me. I told them I was unconscious after wounded and the VA said we don't have records and I give them letters from a Command Sgt and others but didn't seem to help or matter. Has anyone else gone through this and did you find your records eventually? Happened March 19,1967, at Battle of Bau Bang B troop 1st Plt. Any one had any luck at find your records if St Louis says they don't have them :!mad:

his name was edward duty

i never got to meet my uncle

i was born march 14 1972

he died in vietnam march 7 1969

but i feel a connection to him

did anyone know him

Reported to Charlie Horse 10 May 1971, left unit early Mar 1972. I was the only hydraulics man in CH my entire tour. I have endless tales to tell but from a maintenance view. I hug out with David Cornish, Joe Couch, Mac MacLaughlin, Bill Goodman, Bob Mitchel (Dyna), Sp6 Buzzell, SSG Jim Higgins, SFC Belcher, Sp5 Wheaty Wheaten and Animal to name a few. Of 4 tours this is the one in my dreams. I retired as the 1SG of the Comancheros, A Co 101st Avn Bn, from Desert Storm Jan 91. I am a lifetime member of the Black Knights and hope to be at the next reunion.
