My late husband, Paul "Gypsy" Winthrop passed away on Feb. 11, 2019. Paul was inducted into the Army on his father's birthday, May 7th and proudly served in B Troop from 1/69-1/70. I recently was able to purchase the last paver available at the Fort Benning Memorial Site in his honor.

My Brother , Sgt. Maj. Robert L. Uhte served in this unit during 1967 In Bau Bang , Vietnam, and earned the Silver Star for his action . He was also in Korea in the 50s, where he was wounded . He died Dec. 21, 2019 in Converse , Tx. He is buried at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery ,he was a true warrior ! R.I.P. Brother
