Comments: I'm a former A Top. 7th Cav. M60 tank gunner stationed in Bamburg and Schweinfurt Germany with the 3rd Inf. Div. My platoon sergeant and tank commander SFC Ben W. Howell was killed during Tet May 1968. He had only been in Vietnam a month when he was killed. Ben was with A top. 3rd stern 5th can. 9th Inf
I posted a comment on the wall where a Professor Evan Leavitt from a Georgia College from Milledge Ga. contacted me. I gave him all pictures I had but was surprised no one from the 5th Cav came forward who might have known him. Not even family hasn't helped. Even if we could find out circumstances of his death would be appreciated. Evan.leavitt@gcsu.edu. Please help. He was a good man and needs to be remembered. Jim
Comments: Just wanted to let everyone know I have been in the Lexington Ky VA sinceThursday July 15 and had cancer removed from my right lung and they removed the lobe as well. Sounds like I may be released tomorrow. Just checking in
