I regret to inform you of the passing of CPT Robert B. Montarro on August 11, 2018--he was 72 years old. Robert serve with C Troop 3/17 Cavalry as
a Scout Pilot from May 1970 to September 15, 1970 when he was severely wounded and sole survivor after his helicopter had been shot down. After leaving
the military, he was active in the National Purple Hearts Hall of Fame where his flight jacket is proximately displayed.
Services were held for Robert on August 11, 2018 at the Parish of Saint Francis and Saint Clare Church in Wilton Manors, FL. Interment will be at
Arlington National Cemetery. Those wishing to honor Robert may choose to make a donation to the 3rd Squadron 5th Cavalry Memorial Fund. Checks
should be mailed to Richard J. Wandoff, 119 Victorian Lane, Jupiter, FL 33458.
