Brothers; I regret to inform you of the passing of Robert Rodriguez on December 29, 2018 as a result of his battle with cancer--he was 69 years old and is survived by his son Cory Rodriguez. Bob was a graduate of the NCO Academy as a Sergeant E-5 and served in the 2nd Platoon of C Troop as the Track Commander on the 22 Track from December 70' - November 71'. Bob was an active member of the "Black Knights" and was instrumental in the construction of a Vietnam Memorial in Des Moines, IA. He is fondly remembered for being in charge of an outpost at the top of the "Rock Pile" which gave him the nickname of "Sergeant Rock". Bob was extremely proud of the CIB that he was awarded and of all of his BIA of the 3rd Squadron 5th Cavalry.
