Comments: Ray Littman/Terry Pilkington....my oh my! One heck of a lot of water under the bridge ehh? I was cruising around on the internet and ran into this site. I sure hope you guys took good care of 39er, she served me well! I jumped on her in the summer of '66 at Ft Riley Kansas with Sgt's Stanley, Hua, and Orton whipping us wanna be tankers into shape to become real tankers. All the tanks and pc's were loaded onto railcars and shipped west, then loaded on ships and headed for VN. I took the troop ship (Gen Maurice Rose) from Oakland, Ca to Vung Tau, VN. Floated down some river on a barge out of Saigon with our tanks, made it to Bear Cat, then off to busting jungle, and a whole lot of other things. In country from Dec '66 to Dec '67...we've a lot of catching up my friends. Ain't it funny, I can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday, but faces and names of 3rd platoon tankers are etched in my memory bank...Gene Stevens A Troop 3/5th, 3rd platoon, tanker, 39er....
Comments: I served in 2nd Platoon and Mortar Platoon of C Company July 1967 to July 1968. Would like to hear from some of the soldiers who served with me.
Comments: This site has helped me come to peace with my time in Viet Nam 25 AUG 70 -28 SEP 71. I am proud of what the 3/5 CAV has accomplished and that I had a small part to play in its success of building the Yellow Brick Road.
