Comments: While we were at Wonder Beach and then Camp Evans the mail came in to Bearcat and later to Meto (9th Div HQ) and was sorted, put on a plan and flow to PhuBi where it was then picked up by a Squadorn Mail duce and 1/2 and driven to Evans. I processed through Bearcat and did the week in the rubber plantation school and then flew to PhuBi where I road the mail truck from PhuBi to wonder Beach for eventual assignement to B Troop. This was the mail situation the from summer 68 to at least Feb or so of 69. The APO we used was the 9th Div APO down south and that caused the horrible delay in mail delivery which was a major * * * item. At least that's how I recall it. I thought it was 96375 but I am not sure.

Comments: Don: I could very well be mistaken because the passage of time has eroded my menmory, but my recollection is that all mail went to Bearcat (later Dong Tam)and was forwarded to us as we moved around I Corps. According to various Operation Reports for 1968 (which I think I got from this alumni web site) the 3/5th headquarters APO (which I believe would have been our APO, was 96370.
Comments: Do any of the B troopers know weather Track 33 was damagedsometime after Feb of 69,I saw some photos of her and shehad 3,50cals and number did not look as i rember.
Comments: I couldn't believe my eyes. I checked out some of the pictures and started recognizing people. Found one that I was in. I can almost smell the mud the PCs got mired in. I find I remember the nicknames much easier than the real names. I'm glad I stumbled in.

Comments: I am writing my second book about the fighting at Khe Sanh in 1968 and am trying get information about a mission that a Black Knight chopper may have run in the days just following 6 July 1968 to recover the body of a Marine who was left on a hill west of Khe Sanh base (at AMS map coordinate XD 772 440).
If someone from 3d Squadron, 5th Cavalry was on that mission, or if anyone else has information about it, and where the body might have been taken, I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks,
Michael Archer

Comments: Dean, your right I was with the 25th Infantry until they stood down then I got reassigned to 3/5 Cav. The guy who trained me to drive the tank was a guy I want to say they called him Mac. I still have my zippo lighter with a Sheridan on it and Someday on the main gun!! I would have gotten to C Troop around the end of October first of November!!
