Comments: Have not checked in a while I was with A Troop 67-68,,,missed Bau Bang... did not miss TET.got hit on the way to Bien Hoa airbase.. Does any body remember if the VC were wearing uniforms because they were Not as I recall. One guy I shot at was wearing A red bandana and a Mickey Mouse shirt. I am not making this up.
Looking around I think we were a damn good unit. peace and all that

Comments: Ron, I wasn't on the tank when they hit the mine. I had lucked out and got a rear job right before we got back from the Operation at Khe Sahn!! I think of John, Stoner and the others everyday, I was lucky!!!! Dennis was from Mack Creek Mo. and John was from Elyria Oh. I think of them everyday great guys Stoner would drink beer from a can with the top opened then he would open the bottom and let it flow, we called them Stoner sodas. Thanks for responding I really appreciate it!!!
Comments: Terry I remembering hearing about the mine and fire in the back yard that killed Dennis Stoner,was you one of the guys he help out of the tank? I wasn't there, I was in the first platoon, some place else, I was on track 11 with his best freind Darrell Smith from Missouri I talk with Darrell every few weeks on the phone. Sorry I can't give you any more info.

Comments: Served with C Troop 3rd platoon 70-71 I drove a Sheridan #37. I was the driver until early April 71, then John Gentkowski took my place. Stoner moved into the loaders spot. Just 2 weeks later they hit a mine south of Qaung Tri, I was hoping I might hear back from someone who may remember!!!!
Comments: i haven't entered any thing since 2009 i just went through the entries got caught up learn a few things that i had forgot and didn't know , picked afew names also that i'd for got. good reading some made me smile.

Ray and I talk on the ph. now and then and we always bring up your name wondering where you are and how you're doing. NIELSEN, LT. COL. KENNETH G., US ARMY (RETIRED), 81, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013. He earned his pilot's license at age 16. At 17, he joined the US Army. He served in post World War II Japan, was a tank commander in the Korean War, and a helicopter gunship commander in Vietnam. He attended the Command and General Staff College in Ft. Leavenworth KS. He earned many medals and awards in service to his country, including the Legion of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross, and The Bronze Star. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday noon-3 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Wounded Warriors.
