Served with A Troop , 2nd Platoon 3/5 from September 1968 til September 1969 .
Pre-Combat Trained by Sgt. Tim Jewel on the beaches between Camp Evans and Eagle . He did a great job as can be attested to by me writing this note . Served with Utke , Cassanova Trent , Baker , Horsey , Vincent , Dorsey , Richardson , and others I can see their faces but have lost their names . We served under LT Cailor and Capt. Medders . I was wounded January 26th , 1969 around 3:00 am on a road run north of Quang Tri where Sgt Cassanova received his Silver star . You guys were Great , to me the "Best" . Though I may have to look at letters and photos to match some of your names to the faces , I can remember and attest to your bravery and skill .
Blessings , Thoughts and Prayers Go out to the soul of Nesbitt and All the Members of "C" Troop from April , 1969 .
Love You Guys !

Been lookin for you brothers of mine since I've been back
to the world, Feb 69. I finally found you this past year, and am joining the unit once more. My wife (Susan)
and I will be at Colorado Springs for the reunion this June. I guess I can say I'm a little nervous since I have not run into any of the Black Knights since returning home, but I'm so lookin foward to seeing all of you.

Marvin Davis. I haven't been on the guest book for a while as you can see. I just saw your post of 12/28/12 about Lt. Gallo. I rode with C-Trp in 67-68. I was on the track with Lt. Fowler and Jim Heinz. We brought Leo Wolters and a TC from the tank next to us when we were hit from a command detonated mine that day. I think the tankers name might have been Randolph. Never heard what happened to either of them. Remember that guy that tried to get that chicken ARVN and his men up and onto the line? That was me. He kept saying "Me Major-Me Major. Then I realized they were supposedly there to provide a guard for your medic track and he really was a Major. Oops!!! Guess I should have found that out, maybe I wouldn't have kicked him in the * * * and told him to get out there. Tom

We travel south by Motor Coach, from Colorado Springs past Fort Carson and NORAD. Turning west, we pass through scenic Red Rock Canyon, and on to Canon City, where we board the Royal Gorge Route Railroad, which follows the most famous portion of the Old Denver & Rio Grande Western train line. This train follows the rails on a 24 mile roundtrip through the spectacular Royal Gorge. You will see the famous Hanging Bridge the, which clings precariously to the steep granite walls of the Royal Gorge, towering over 1,000 feet above. The Canyon was eroded over the millennia to a depth of 1,055 feet by the turbulent waters of the Arkansas River. The Royal Gorge is spanned by the highest suspension bridge in the world. This two hour train ride combines breathtaking scenery, wildlife, history and world class service and will create memories to last a lifetime.

Thank you all for your service, and the sacrifices made by those no longer with us. I would like to ask a favor of any members of the Black Knights who served in late '69-early '70. I would love any info anyone can give me about Kenneth Cotter, A Troop. KIA, April 6, 1970 in Quang Tri. He was my uncle. Thank you in advance, and again, thank you all.
