Good Afternoon. This is my first post. I am looking for the following information: I was on track 35. On 22 June 1969, I was wounded. Lost my hand, later reattached. Also wounded in my leg. Crew, at the time, was Bo, Cole and DoDo. Section Chief was SGT Britt; 1SGT was Gantt. I sent for the Daily Staff Journals from Army archives. There is no mention of my being wounded/evacuated. After all these years, the Army has now disallowed my PH. To appeal this decision with the Army Board for Correction of Military Records, I need to submit additional information. My medical record says wounded by mortar fire in the Line of Duty. What is missing in the medical record is 'by enemy action'. I do not know if it was friendly or enemy fire. I would like to appeal and keep my Purple Heart. Any information, documents, a witness, etc., that can shed light would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You very much. Cavalry Forever. Joe.

Hello troopers, I've visited this site for years and I guess it's time to say a few words. I came into A troop around Dec. of 68 on the 40-commo track as "Dapper" 9er-bravo. Gibbs was the driver, Hutch, Sgt Kelson, after Gibbs got hurt, I drove for a while too. After a while, I went to B-troop where I was the lone commo. guy for a time, and finished out there in Nov. of '68. I'd like to throw out some random names and memories to see if anyone shares them. They all kind of run together after so many years. I do remember Doris the dog and the pup...Jo-Bob the monkey eating cigarettes, c-4, and the tank Sgt. who called everybody "Bow-deen". Blackhorse Tet, and dust storms, Xuan Loc, Rubber plantations, the Aussies and the Kiwis. Real beer lovers "The party starts about the time the last yank passes out, mate." I have a lot of pretty good pix to send in once I get 'em all scanned. Until next time. Bless the * * * Cav.
