Comments: Once again I arrive at this guestbook with the news of another Brother passing on to Fiddlers Green. This Brother James Pete Stafford holds a special place in my heart I still remember him walking up to what was to be the new C-17 saying be damn sure this thing is ready for the field and handing me the Command Radios and telling me this is his Tank and you are responsible for it. After he left country in 68 I would not see him again until 1999 in the Hospitality Room with a Miller Light in his hand. Pete was My Mentor, My Friend, My Big Brother, and My Brother in Arms. I will miss him greatly, My he Rest in Peace: Boots and Saddles until we meet at Fiddlers Green. Cookie 17

Comments: I arrived in country end of November 67 assigned to headquarters company 3/5 medic track which was attached to C troop. First action was beginning of December after we had moved from a position southeast of saigon 100 miles north on Highway 1 and moved a few clicks into the jungle. That night we were hit with mortars, RPG's and AK 47 fire. One track in particular was hit with an RPG and I was making the rounds inside the perimeter and heard no firing and saw no movement and went in thru the back only to find the floor covered in blood and saw a figure slumped on the floor called and went to him only to find he was blown in half. Another body was located in front of the first one. I did not know their names but I felt so sad and helpless. Tom Mowry
Comments: I was sent a name for the fiddlers green list and I can not verify that he has passed, if any one knows let me know, his name is SPLETSTOSER, TONY

Comments: Hello. My dad served in C Troop, 3/5 Cav November - Dec. 31, 1967. He was badly burnt when C Troop was ambushed that night. He's beginning to talk a bit more about his service with me. We were at the travelling wall just this past weekend when it was in a nearby town. He remembers a few who were with him that night. We found 3 on the wall and a few more on this site. He's still looking for his SGT, but doesn't remember how the man's name was spelled or if he survived or not. Thank you for all of the information that you have available! For those who served that are reading this, thank you for your service! God bless!
