Comments: To Gary Vaught: Iwas your Troop Commander at the time you were wounded. The actual enemy contact you were in with A Troop's 3rd Platoon started around midnight Feb 28/Mar 1 and concluded on Mar 1. That's why there is the difference. During that contact, Lt Al Kincer was mortally wounded (he died in the hospital at Quang Tri on Mar 1)and 6 troopers were wounded and evacuated to Quang Tri. I'm glad to hear from you. If you want to contact me, my email is stewar2@comcast.net. Welcome home brother.

Comments: I was in A trooop 3/5 cav in Vietnam in 1970-1971. I was wounded the night of 28 of February 1971. Orders say 1st of march. Anyone from A troop out there during this time frame. My MOS was mechanic and on out personel carrier we had Bis with 3 names on the front.
Comments: I was in B Troop 3/5 cav from early 1970 to early 1971. I wore the 9th infantry patch . My base camp was in Dong Ha. My track wore the "YELLOW SQUARE" I never heard my unit referred to as the Black Knights.I was on a Sheridan tank. Damn that was a long time ago but its still part of me.
