I a the 1SG for E Troop, 5th US Cavalry. I understand this is a 3/5th Cav pure web page but, I am interested in the Regiments History of all periods so that, I can ensure that the Troopers of today show the proper respects to past veterans by wearing only authorized unit decorations. I have tried to contact the Regimental Historian before but to no avail. Any brothers in arms out there who can help point me in the right direction please, contact me at daniel.bumbaugh at us.army.mil thank you

Thanks for the reply, Tim and Ed. No, I've not seen Schoen or anyone else since returning from VN . . . except for D Troop crew chief Larry Fitzgerald, who came and stayed some days with me in '71. More names are coming back to me, like Dan Drozen, Jim Bard, others. I have some photos to post, including a great one of Schoen, as soon as I figure out how to do it.
