Comments: I was with 3/5 Cav, A Troop 3 Platoon from April '69-April '70 on track 3-2 (I think.) My TC was Nino Trajillo (sp?) and my driver was Ernest Cole; I was on the 50 cal. Within a few weeks of my arrival my Lt. was killed by a Tiger Scout who was "cleaning" his 45 pistol. Recall an Evon Desjorden (sp?) who was TC on an M48 and a guy whose nickname was "Glass." At a crossing at the Cam Lo River, a guy who had just turned 18 and was out in the field with us (and had been so anxious for this opportunity) was the driver on a PC which hit a mine; he lost his leg. Anyone in the 3rd Platoon A Troop please call me at (315)262-2497. I would be so glad to hear from anyone who remembers these events or whose tour may have coincided/overlapped with mine. It's been such a long time; I miss and love all of you and think of you daily. PS-Our Platoon Sgt. was called "Big Daddy."
Comments: Walter Hopkins, I was in B trp at the same as you . I went over with the group on the ship, Ed Chambers made a post to you, I was I think on APC ? 12 but not sure I was on the same track most of the tour, I was there when the tank and your track hit the mines. Glad to see your post, B trp is having a reunion up in Oh this summer, and 3/5 will have its next summer. tstbgpops@yahoo.com

Comments: Been to old site but first on new site. Good Job!! I was with 3/5 B Trp from January to end of June, 1968. I was the driver on 34 track for most of this time. remember some names but forget some after over 40 years. After July, 68 I got to get out of the field with an outfit back at Long Binh. Ward from HHQ Plt joined me a few days later. Some guys went back home because of death in families, Wilder and Indian on track 35 who was driver when they got ambushed in I Corp west of Dong Ha on April 3 and we lost 3 troopers. Ben Hitte and Pimbrook, you out there?? TC was "Pollock" from Chicago when we went north to Da Nang and later to I Corp. Going to try to make it to July reunion in Ohio!! My email address is dtitus1@earthlink.net
Comments: Walter Hopkins.....I was the first platoon scout section leader for the first half of my tour. Sgt Cooper and I were together from Ft Riley. Your 14 track was brought back to Blackhorse basecamp. I have a picture of it. Did you know a guy named Becerril? Email me if you'd like. echam39239@bresnan.net.

Comments: Forgot to mention, was driving b14apc on nov4,67 when a mine flipped the track, and Sgt Alex Cooper was killed. I still have the clapper board--made of bamboo, and copper wire, that set the mine off.The track was towed to ausse firebase, and taken out with a sky crane.
