In answer to your last mess. Dave Clark,I was in the 37 tank right behind 38 tank when it was hit by an RPG and Sgt.Williams landed right in front of me. Willie Angus was the gunner in that tank and was my best friend at the time. The driver was name Harold ?,he survived and went on to Hue after with us. The loaders name I can't recall, but Angus's body was finally blown out of the tank later. Would like to talk to you or any one else in 3rd platoon from the time we went to Hue till left fire base burmingham 5-8-68. I hope I helped you some. Feel free to contact me anytime by E-Mail or phone 530-223-5852. Terry Pilkington.

Thanks to Terry, Rick and Richard for answering my message. I have tossed this question around for years and as I get older I feel like I would like to do something. The fire fight was in late Jan right after Tet. I believe Terry was talking about the same battle. I was the 3rd platoon medic, it was my first fire fight and as we rolled down the road I heard a huge explosion and all the guns began firing. I saw the lead tank burning and jumped off the track and broke a bone in my right foot. Never felt the pain, to tell the truth I was proably so scared I counld not feel anyting. I got to Sgt Williams and found him on the ground with part of his leg gone. I was working on him when two VC came out to see me and the 39 tank pulled up and took care of them. I tried several times to get on the burning tank but could not get to the hatch because of the fire and the rounds inside the takn wer exploding. I believe the drivers name was Beach, but I do not remember the two fellows inside the tank. Does someone know their names? I would like to fine their names on the wall. I would also like to know the TC for the 39 tank that more than likey saved my life. I think his first name was Michael, he was a big fellow and was a staff Sgt. Can someone give me the address to view the radio journals or daily reports. Thanks guys
