Comments: Wow, what a great meeting place, thanks to Mike Cook & all for what they've done trying to get us back together! Feb 68 - Aug 68, 2nd Platoon with Sgt Sam Cyrus, Carl White, Bill Souza, Frank Perrin (?), Ron Farber, Larry Coolbaugh, Spanky" Dement, and many many more...been a long time hasn't it? I'll be fback and lookin for more familiar names. "Welcome Home"...is good.
Comments: i flew crusader cobras in apr 1970 to apr 1971. I KNEW SUFFY SMITH (B TRP) AND (MILTON FORD) ATTENDED A LOT OF PARTIES AT A TROOP WITH MORILLA GORILLA BITING THE COBRA ROTOR BLADE THAT SERVED AS A BAR COUNTER.
I especially want to see you. Did you get the Silver Star? Should have been the Medal of Honor. You saved us from being overrun. When I crawled to the East end of the NDP, you were the only one in that area who was capable of fighting. You were firing your M-60 with a badly wounded arm and asked me to load it for you. Then you said to me "God-dammit Lt. get out there and fight." We were still taking small arms and RPG fire. It seemed like the whole world was exploding and you kept on fighting. I was told by a nurse the next morning that you had lost a foot. A lot of abandoned NVA gear was found right in front of your position, not far from our wire. I hope your friends and family know what a hero you are. I do.

Comments: Looking for Vernon Lovely, my gunner from B troop, 1970. 'Loaned' him to a 'shake-and-bake' 551 TC for a 'demonstration' shoot and the TC held the trigger down and the second the breech spun shut the gun went off and smashed Lovely's skull...
