Wow, what a great meeting place, thanks to Mike Cook & all for what they've done trying to get us back together! Feb 68 - Aug 68, 2nd Platoon with Sgt Sam Cyrus, Carl White, Bill Souza, Frank Perrin (?), Ron Farber, Larry Coolbaugh, Spanky" Dement, and many many more...been a long time hasn't it? I'll be fback and lookin for more familiar names. "Welcome Home"...is good.

i flew crusader cobras in apr 1970 to apr 1971. I KNEW SUFFY SMITH (B TRP) AND (MILTON FORD) ATTENDED A LOT OF PARTIES AT A TROOP WITH MORILLA GORILLA BITING THE COBRA ROTOR BLADE THAT SERVED AS A BAR COUNTER.

I especially want to see you. Did you get the Silver Star? Should have been the Medal of Honor. You saved us from being overrun. When I crawled to the East end of the NDP, you were the only one in that area who was capable of fighting. You were firing your M-60 with a badly wounded arm and asked me to load it for you. Then you said to me "God-dammit Lt. get out there and fight." We were still taking small arms and RPG fire. It seemed like the whole world was exploding and you kept on fighting. I was told by a nurse the next morning that you had lost a foot. A lot of abandoned NVA gear was found right in front of your position, not far from our wire. I hope your friends and family know what a hero you are. I do.

Looking for Vernon Lovely, my gunner from B troop, 1970. 'Loaned' him to a 'shake-and-bake' 551 TC for a 'demonstration' shoot and the TC held the trigger down and the second the breech spun shut the gun went off and smashed Lovely's skull...

Just turned 65. Was with HHT TOC S-2 section, arrived at Bearcat January 1968 departed Dong Ha March of 1970. Have memories and pictures, some film,(packed away) of Blackhorse, Tet, DaNang, Cua Viet, Dong Ha, Rock Pile, Vandergrift, Quang Tri, April 68 Squadron CP sapper attack, Wunder Beach (typhoon, flood, rats, & flies), SSG John Thiele, 1LT John Di Napoli, Night Hawk operations, Camp Evans, HWY 547,FSB Blaze, Charlie Brown, Ashau, Rendezvous, Veghel, Eagle's Nest, Ruong Ruong Valley, remember some faces, some names, others have faded from memory. Would enjoy hearing from anyone from that time.
