I just now heard about the 3-5 site and 2011 reunion. Sorry I missed the B troop 2010 reunion,, I might have known some of you. I commanded 3rd platoon B/3-5 cav from July 1967 to Feb 1968, then into HHT 3-5 cav as LNO till July 1968. Does anybody know Tom Player from B/3-5, last I knew he retired in NJ. Jim Zoeller

Following up on Tom mess.,I was in 3rd plt. A trp. from 5-8-67 to 5-8-68 & have only been in contact with one member of my platoon, Ray Littman who was our tank driver, and we communicate quite often by phone or e-mail. This a great site to communicate w/fellow troopers and read all the different answers questions & well wishs feom all. As most of us felt when we left V.N., it was a happy feeling, but bitter sweet because of the love of our buddies still there in harms way. There has always been something missing in my life since I returned and now that hole is being filled by returning to this webb-site. I hope we find all my fellow troopers and their families healthy&happy as can be through this holiday season and to all have a Merry Xmas

Ft Riley, USNS Upshure, 1966-1967.Truck ride to get our vechicles, 1 clip of ammo for the ride.Listening to Hanoi Hanna(only station that played descent tunes).Always new where we were!! The popping of mortors in the distance, sometimes comming in too close. Breaking jungle , ambushes, C-Rations(and hot sauce). Beer, ammo, gas, chow, mail by Helicopter. Like calling for a Pizza deliverery nowadays. Mine sweeping with 3 tanks,(Engineers walked too slow I guess) I know that you guys are out there reaing this . A lot of you need to know that this is not a private place for the elite few. It's here for "US" to stay in touch. Try it , ya jus might like it. Still lookin for tose that I served with. Found a few, be nice to find a lot more. sign the guestbook, let someone know you will always remember the days when we were "THE CAV". My 2 cents have been put in for now.
